Fery Farhati Opens 2022 Dekranasda Week Festival

This year's DWF is held through various activities ranging from product exhibitions, talk shows, product demos, live performances, and so on

Jakarta Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) Chairman Fery Farhati has opened the 2022 Dekranasda Week Festival (DWF) at the Main Atrium, G Floor, Gandaria City Mall, Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

On that occasion, she appreciated all Jakarta Dekranasda caretakers who had held the festival at Gandaria City Mall from August 31 to September 4, 2022.

The same statement also came from all participants who supported the promotion of the work of Jakarta artisans who attended the festival.

"This year's DWF is held through various activities ranging from product exhibitions, talk shows, product demos, live performances, and so on," he expressed, at the location, Wednesday (8/31).

According to him, this festival is a manifestation of the government's efforts in fostering artisans in Jakarta. It is also a means of interaction between residents and artisans, so they can continue to be creative to produce more creative and innovative products.

"I'm also proud of the artisans who are still working to this day. Those persist in increasing product innovation despite the pandemic," she expressed.

Through the work of artisans, she assessed, the stories of Betawi culture and Jakarta will be spread widely to various generations in the future. From the exhibition, it was known that so far many artisan's works were inspired by the pandemic.

"That means they are strong artisans," she added.

Jakarta Industry Trade Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo expressed that there were about 39 participants displaying works of crafts, fashion, and so on.

She uttered that currently the craft sector continues to grow and makes a positive contribution to the Jakarta economy. The artisans also supported national independence by trying to develop a craft industry based on Jakarta's culture and ethnic diversity for 39 years.

"With this event, they can promote their work thus it is known to many people," he stated.
